In the heart of Clare Valley, a landmark has been reborn, reshaping the landscape of one of Australia's most iconic wine regions. As one enters the premises of Taylors Wines, the past and present come together in a breathtaking dance. The heritage, embodied by the original homestead, converses eloquently with the grandeur of the brand new cellar door.

Spearheaded by the collaborative efforts of GP Architects, Cook Building, and Georgie Shepherd Interior Design, this multi-million dollar project marks the first major revamp of Taylors' cellar door experience in half a century. Positioned adjacent to the original homestead and sheltered by the famous battlement facade of the operational facilities, this audacious venture is set to revolutionise the visitor's experience.

 

Approaching the front of Taylors Wines, you're greeted by a picturesque scene. The winery's facade features a blend of contemporary architecture and historic charm, with inviting pathways leading to the entrance. Lush landscaping and well-maintained gardens frame the building, creating a harmonious atmosphere that embodies the essence of Clare Valley wine country.

 

Mitchell Taylor, the third-generation winemaker and managing director, sums it up: “The Clare Valley is a beacon for gourmand travellers. Our ambition was to ascend to the demand and showcase our world-renowned wines in an unparalleled setting. This new chapter is the embodiment of that vision."

 

From the interior of Taylors Wines, a captivating view unfolds through large windows. The expansive winery estate stretches before you, revealing rows of meticulously tended vineyards against the backdrop of rolling hills. The warm, inviting ambiance of the interior seamlessly connects with the natural beauty of the surrounding Clare Valley landscape.

 

GP Architects, renowned for curating exquisite wine and hospitality locations in the region, embraced the challenge head-on. Kristina Soggee, Principle Architect, exclaims, "The commitment was not just to erect a structure, but to infuse it with the spirit and story of Taylors." To this end, significant efforts were made to harmonise the new build with the existing heritage structure.

 

Inside Taylors Wines, the interior exudes elegance and attention to detail. The high ceilings are a striking feature, adorned with intricate architectural elements and tasteful lighting fixtures that create a welcoming and refined atmosphere. The design and craftsmanship of the ceilings add to the overall charm of the winery's interior space.

 

Within Taylors Wines' interior, a focal point is the beautifully tiled fireplace. The fireplace, with its intricate bronze-green tiles, serves as a cozy and inviting centerpiece, adding warmth and a touch of sophistication to the space. The detailed craftsmanship of the fireplace complements the overall ambiance of the winery's interior.

 

Inside, the new cellar door reveals an intricate tapestry of design and experience, with five distinct zones for guests: the Main Tasting Room, The Courtyard, The East Patio, The Event Pavilion, and the Collector’s Club members' tasting room. From the travertine stone countertop and the iconic three seahorse emblem, to the bronze-green tiled fireplace and custom timber features, every facet narrates a tale of passion, legacy, and innovation.

 

The Collectors Club members tasting room at Taylors Wines offers an exclusive and intimate space for wine enthusiasts. The room features elegant decor with custom furnishings, rich wood accents, and wine-related artwork. Large windows allow natural light to illuminate the room, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for members to savor unique wine experiences.

 

In the Collectors Club members tasting room at Taylors Wines, a picturesque scene unfolds through the expansive windows. Members are treated to breathtaking views of the vineyards and rolling hills of Clare Valley. The room's interior, with its tasteful decor and comfortable seating, seamlessly connects with the natural beauty outside, providing a serene and luxurious setting for wine tasting.

 

Yet, amidst this symphony of design, one space stands out not just for its aesthetic but for its ethos - the accessible toilet featuring the Shelf 02 Wall Hung Basin in Mid Tone Grey. Kristina emphasises, "Compliance with AS1428 proves that accessibility and beauty can co-exist harmoniously." This thoughtful inclusion is a testament to Taylors Wines’ commitment to creating an inclusive environment without compromising on elegance.

 

In the bathroom of Taylors Wines, the Shelf 02 Wall Hung Basin in Mid Tone Grey takes center stage. The basin is complemented by an antique-style faucet in raw brushed brass, evoking a classic and timeless aesthetic. The combination of the basin and faucet exudes a sense of sophistication and elegance in the bathroom space.

 

With sustainability at its heart, the project incorporates elements like EV charging stations, solar panels, and water conservation. Each component, from the crackling fireplace in The Courtyard to the panoramic views from the Collector’s Club, is meticulously curated to provide a luxurious yet sustainable experience.

 

As doors open in April 2023, Taylors Wines invites the world to partake in its redefined cellar door experience. The confluence of heritage, luxury, and innovation positions it as the epitome of Clare Valley's evolving wine legacy.
