Design Philosophy

The renovation respected the existing framework while reimagining the interior for todays lifestyle. Raked ceilings created an open sense of grandeur, while the heritage façade anchors the home in its context. Materiality bridges eras with quartzite, marble, and timber providing warmth and tactility, complemented by brass accents, reeded glass and steel framed archways to introduce subtle refinement.

Art at the heart of the home

Inspired by nature, the interior palette layers earthy neutrals with accents of deep green and blue. The clients art collection, including Peter WattsEuropean Australia (2021) with dramatic cloud formations moving across untamed landscapes informed these tones and textures.

Colour becomes the driver in defining the mood of each space; Warm Neutrals in the living areas; Chinchilla Fur in the master suite; Precipitous in the main bathroom and Beige Buff in the powder room. The gradation of colours move throughout the house as a dappled cloud moving across the sky slowly, creating contrasts within a unified scheme.

Detail and Craftsmanship

The ensuite and powder room extend the homes commitment to refined detailing, where every element has been considered for both elegance and longevity. Tiger Bronze tapware, pairs effortlessly with the warm metallic accents found throughout the residence. Solid brass hardware, sculptural fittings and a lighting scheme attuned to a soft, lustrous glow that enhances the richness of these tones. In the powder room, a playful sensibility emerges. A mint Shelf 03 wall basin by Nood Co floats against muted blush pink tiles, introducing colour in a way that remains distinct, but never departing of the overall homes tonality. Above, a wavy-edged brass mirror reflects a wallpaper scene of a golden primate scaling palm trees beneath a pastel pink sunset - an unexpected moment of joy within an otherwise serene interior.
