Powder blue cottage dream

Nood Co x @cotter_builders

Cotter Builders  create spaces that are perfectly planned, functional and uniquely you. They are inspired by the sought after Queensland climate and a relaxed way of living and their bespoke designs are always stunning with many of their bathroom renovations featuring Nood Co basins.

We had a chat with them about their powder blue cottage dream bathroom they recently completed.

We love this space and so does instagram. Can you tell us about the mood you were trying to achieve with this space?

The main bathroom was part of a modest queenslander cottage renovation. The mood we were trying to achieve was elegant and calming yet playful.

Tell us about the colours, patterns and material choices for this space and how they work together?

The client loved the playful terrazzo patterned tiles. We played on the idea of elongating the small bathroom by the rippled subway tiles run horizontally abutted to the vertical VJ cladding above to stretch the space. The VJ cladding added a play on the traditional queenslander home and further adding to the quaint charm was the custom made blackbut timber vanity. The addition of the brushed brass fittings set the mood just right. The cherry on top was the selection of the powder blue noodco basin. The subtle pop of colour completed the space.

Tell us about your Nood selection? Why did you select that design and colour?

The client liked how the soft powder blue wasn't going to be jarring for the small space and it was going to complement the terrazzo tiles and slight grey tinge to the wall paint. The bathroom is for our client's little boy so it was ideal in adding a playful but subtle pop of colour. The client liked the surface mounted bowl basin as it somehow created that playful vibe for a little boy as round basins are not so common. It also gave us that little bit of extra space on the benchtop to showcase the custom natural timber vanity.
