A happy, airy coastal-inspired bathroom

We recently came across a stunning project by one of our very talented customers (@silko_). We love that bathroom design so much, we had to share it with you all.

They designed a coastal-inspired bathroom featuring our pill basin in sand with a custom-made timber vanity from 'Custom Vanity'.

We love this space and so does instagram. Can you tell us about the mood you were trying to achieve with this space?

I’m guess you could say the “mood” we were trying to create is something light and neutral to tie into the rest of our house. With lots of natural light and high ceilings the feel of this room is very fresh, airy and happy.

Tell us about the colours, patterns and material choices for this space and how they work together?

We wanted our bathroom spaces to have a semi luxurious feel but not overpower the rest of our house as it’s a very costal beach house with open living and light pastel colours. We used natural travertine on the floor for a neutral starting point. Natural stone has the tendency to add ounces of luxury but we also tried to pan that back with concrete basins and tas oak timber which is featured all through our house. The mosaic finger tiles were used on the vanity wall to break up the rest of the white walls as we opted for large format 600x1200 super Matt tiles everywhere else to minimise grout for practical purposes.

Tell us about your Nood selection? Why did you select that design and colour?

We thought long and hard about our nood basin choice but wanted to add a bit of colour to brighten up this space. The pill basin is super practical and the colour “sand” we chose ties in perfectly with the natural beige colours in the travertine veins.
